DRAWLING AND PAINTING

MY GALLERY

“Dripping Doberman”

  • Winter 2024

Mixed media piece. I drew the dog and layered drawn elements onto hand placed gold leaf. Much of the wording I drew directly onto the glass with marker.

  • Among society it is prevalent that perceptions run rampant. Impressions often consume a person's judgment. Once someone or something is fit into a box it's very hard to exit that space. What's above the surface does not always match what's below. If you take something at a surface level you will just reach the tip of the iceberg. Dobermans have become infamous from the violence they are capable of producing. You can see it in their slik ears and sharp teeth they are bred to be guard dogs. But look beyond this characteristic and you will see the beauty and love they are capable of. Underneath all the impressions they shine.

“Monaco”

  • Winter 2023

Pencil was used for this piece.

  • This drawling meshes togher Formula 1 and Bad Bunny. Bad bunny’s song Monaco speaks to the aspirations and dreams of many, serving as an anthem for those who seek to rise above their circumstances. This idea is one prevalent in the world of Motorsport.

“Hammer Time”

  • Winter 2023

Pencil was used for this piece.

  • I wanted to pay homage to one of my favorite F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton. Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest drivers in the history of Motorsport he surpassed tremendous diffculty in a sport build for rich white men. His talent exceeded all expectation earning him tremendous success. I potrayed the catchphrase commonly said by Lewis which is “hammer time” and his current race number. I also have above this a picture of an adult Lewis celebrating one of his many race wins. The bigger drawling of Lewis Hamilton is him in his go carting days I modified this Image to have Lewis Holding the trophy awarded to top F1 driver of the season. My drawling illustrates homage to Lewis hard work in his road of success.

“F40”

  • Winter 2023

Oil paint, acrylic and marker was used.

  • My dream car is a Ferrari F40. I decided to pay homage to the car and its brand. The car itself is unfinished imitating my desire that has not come to fruition. Race elements, the date of the car’s construction and Ferrari logos adorn the painting.

“Saint Dionysios”

  • Fall 2023

This was a mixed media piece. Colored pencils and paint was used.

  • Depicted is Saint Dionysios. While in Greece I had the opportunity to venerate the Saint, an experience which many desire. He is considered a walking Saint His velvet slippers even while remaining in a cascate need to change every few months cause they get dingy and dirty. He goes around the Ionian Islands performing miracles. While in Greece I got to observe a miracle he had performed at the camp I attended.

The white chapel he holds is the camp chapel where the vespers, the evening prokeimenon and Sunday mass was held. The importance of icons is premindent in Orthodox Churches. After the Iconoclasm many precious Icons were destroyed. At the cost of their lives many hid icons and protected churches. I choose to create an icon to honor and express my Orthodox identity. I experienced much in Greece scalping into what it means to be an Orthodox Christian. This icon will likely be the start of many, through this process it is my desire to strengthen the beauty of Religion through endeavoring in this dying art.

“Orthos”

  • Spring 2024

This is a collage. The base was constructed using pieces from several different magazines. Marker and art app websites were used for the writing.

  • The pieces of this collage come together to highlight my favorite parts of my religion. This piece gives homage to Greek Orthodoxy. I wish for the piece to come togher like a puzzle sewn with meaning. An example of this is the crown I drew seen at the top of the piece exemplifying the wedding crowns.

“SOLO”

  • Summer 2024

This piece is constructed of a collage of magazines and paint.

  • This collage came to theme dance and success with motivational messages and ballet imagery.
